Four Corners UT, NM, AZ, CO

Our trip from Santa Fe to Moab UT was an all-day venture through lands that looked forever brown and dusty. It’s a real stunner to contrast green Indiana to shades of brown New Mexico. Our visit to Four Corners almost passed us by as I sped down the highway – doubling back just to be able to say “I stood in all four states at the same time”. OK, that’s pushing it a bit but where else can you span four states with a single step from one to the other?

Four Corners is an interesting place for no other reason than it is absolutely unique. See where it's at on the map below.

There is absolutely nothing else nearby. Click on the + to zoom in. Switch to Terrain or check out Earth to see the topology in 3D. Seeing this sight, in fact just traveling through this country, is a lesson in humility.

Indian vendors set up sales tables in the surrounding enclosures. Mainly trinkets but also blankets and other items. Here you can walk from state to state with one step.
